DRY-NICHE lights, are they a good choice?

Hi,
I just watched a video from "Medallion Pools" on pool walls & seating where he quickly demonstrated a "DRY-NICHE" light set-up. The whole system remains dry, and you easily replace the light (incandescent or LED) by reaching into a skimmer type basket/niche in the deck area.

This appears to be a great set-up, anyone can then change the light, you have the option of LED or incandescent...
Am I missing something? Why hasn't my pool builder mentioned this type of lighting?

Anyone have an opinion on this light set-up?

Dry niche lights are generally more expensive and less reliable than normal lights. In most cases they do eventually get wet, one way or another, and then have problems.

I figured there had to be a down-side! True, if there is a lot of splashing & add salt from SWG into the equation... I can see corrosion issues happening. I won't even bring it up as an option with our PB.
