Hayward Pool Vac Ultra, had for about 6 years. With regular maintenance, I have changed a lot of the parts here and there.
Problem: Hose ends up twisting like spaghetti, and the whole pool does not get cleaned. There is nothing wrong with the hose, every segment is straight and I have never taken it out of the pool except for a few minutes here and there.
While I hold the hose and suspend the unit, it looks like it rotates more one way versus another.
I am thinking the gearbox needs to be replaced. Any thoughts?
