Leisure Pool?

Does anyone here have a Leisure Pool fiberglass pool?
We are thinking of switching our pool from a San Juan to a Leisure Pool. I am just curious if anyone on here has one and if so how do you like it? Any issues?
Seems everyone seems to have Viking or San Juan for a fiberglass pool. Our PB does mostly SJ and just started doing the Leisure pools this year.
Thanks,
Kim

When I originally set out to install a pool I was going with fiberglass. I researched SJ, Viking and Leisure. As I recall, Leisure had good reviews and reputation. Premier Fiberglass pools in the Austin area dropped their other lines and stuck with Leisure. They swear by them. Don't know if this helps

Thanks Starsky that does help.

I think I am going to talk to my PB about switching from SJ to Leisure. He is installing his first Leisure pool this summer, hopefully it is in soon and we will have a chance to go see it.

Does anyone on here have a Leisure Pool?

I have a Moroccan Leisure Pool from New Braunfels outlet.
Love it.
Went in fast, filled up fast and with the DE filter and pump we got it is pretty easy to maintain.
Can't speak to longevity...as it is new.
I can speak to the quality and professional install. Or you can do it yourself.

The major factor in any FG pool is the installation. One of our local dealers installs a very high grade FG, and has annual callbacks for cracked shells! He keeps a FG repair person on call. That's not to say that the quality of the shell is to be ignored, but the ground prep and positioning is critical, IMHO.

I totally agree, the installation is critical. We left it to the pros with warranty for the work.
Here is our Leisure Pool. We are only 45 miles from the Texas Factory.
We have long way to go with landscaping, etc. I do recommend the company for both product and installation. With any project requiring coordination of many parts...transportation, plumbing, electric...there is something to go wrong at each stage.
Our installation was difficult: rock and narrow driveway...
Here are some pix.

Even leaving it to the pros did not keep the crack within 4 wks of installation.
Looks like a rock got into the backfill sand or on the bottom.
The pool has starburst crack...I noticed it a week ago.
:(
Has taken them a week to even inspect the problem.
I guess the good news, it is under warranty and is repairable.
Still and all....not what I expected in a new pool.
Will let you know how this plays out.

marthas_ear: any feedback yet on how they handled it? I am really looking hard at the Leisure pool line and I think I want the same pool you have only in outback blue. I am having a hard time finding a builder to install here though. I am in SC.

I am really fortunate to be dealing with factory direct in Texas.
The opinion is that the crack is cosmetic and will be repaired easily...well, the repair is simple...bringing out the factory fiberglass specialist to do it to match gel coat and a tank to store the water! :)
I got the Gold Coast color which was a special test marketing.
I am pleased with the pool...inspite of the glitch.
Have you emailed the factory in New Braunfels Texas to see if they recommend installers in your area?
There is an email at their site.

Yes, I have spoken with the people at the Leisure factory in TX. They said there are no installers in our area. I am going to try to convince someone else in our area to install one even though they aren't "builders for the brand".

Any opinions about San Juan pools?

We had a San Juan Star Dust pool installed in October 2012. We've been very happy with it. The advice I took from TFP about fiberglass pools is that the quality of all the major brands of fiberglass pools is very close. The more important criteria is the pool installer. If the best-made fiberglass pool is improperly installed, it will be problematic.

We met with the local installer for San Juan and Viking. The Viking guy had very little experience so we opted not to use him. The local San Juan guy really turned us off (and I did some research on him and found a lot of issues in his background). I contacted the regional San Juan manager and explained my concerns. He agreed to have his company come a little outside of their normal territory to do our install. We visited some installations of San Juan Star Dust pools that his company had done and talked to the homeowners. We felt comfortable and went ahead with the installation.

I live in Tennessee, about an hour from where Leisure Pools builds their pools, in Knoxville, Tn, Vice President of the Operation is flying in a crew from Texas to do my install here in East Tennessee, as there are no qualified installers in my area to do the pool. Looking forward to a good trouble free installation, I will advise on TFP. After much research it seems that Leisure and Barrier Reef out of SC both make an excellent quality pool. I went with the 30ft Riviera model for my home. They start the installation next week , weather permitting. Wish me Luck.

My fiberglass pool came from Hatteras pools there in SC, and we feel they did a good job with the challenge of putting my pretty blue pool in on a slope. Have you looked at them?

Any updates on this? I live in Elizabethton and was thinking of using Leisure pools. Really interested how you feel about the process and final outcome of your project. Thanks.

I am in Texas & looking for a good company to install a Leisure Pool. Can you tell me who the company was that was flown from Texas? I am looking at the new Ultimate pool... 40 x 15.5'. Thank you!
