So this was my first opening after having the pool installed last summer. Pulled everything out of the garage and hooked it all back up. Pulled the cover. Had to vacuum the bottom for about a half hour but otherwise the water was clear blue!

Got my trusty Meijer concentrated bleach and poured it in. Checked this morning. FC=5 now. TA=100. Ph at 7.5. CYA at 35 or so.

Other than maybe raise the CYA level a little bit, I am good to go.

TFPC has been such a great resource. Listen to the guys and gals on here and keep up with your pool and you cannot go wrong !

Only problem I encountered was one of the hoses popping loose and gushing water all over for about a minute. Luckily I was watching and nearby when it happened. It helps to tighten down the clamp holding the hose! D'oh!

If your CYA is ~35, don't you think you need to bump your FC up a bit?

Or is your pool one that drops FC at a relatively slow rate?

Good job, anyway. It is so nice to open a pool that looks so inviting you want to just jump right in.
