Hey guys,

I have a doughboy pool with the doughboy filter and 1hp pump. My pump went bad and I need to buy a new one. I don't want another Doughboy pump. The pump it has is a 1hp pump single speed.

Now my fiter ratings are:

Model 0-1750-000
Filtering surface 1.4 sq ft
Max Pressure 50psi
130lbs of sand
Bed depth 12"
It doesnt say anything on it about the flow rate.

Now my questions are this. I dont know what pump to get, I know I should get a 1hp but, should I get a 2 speed pump. Is that an upgrade I should go to and why should I have 2 speeds?

I guess I dont know why I should have 2 speeds, please explain.

Also my pool that I am using it on is in my signature.

Thanks

Certainly a 2 speed would be a good upgrade. You can save a lot of money power by running low speed for filtration and high speed only when need it.

One option that many members seem to is the Hayward matrix 1HP 2 speed.
