High number OCLT testing

Hello everyone,

I have been working on getting my newly opened pool balanced all numbers are in range and water is finally crystal clear. My FC is at shock level of 27 due to CYA of 60. So the question is when I conduct my OCLT test I have clear water, less than 1 CC, and I am having trouble getting my FC to stay within 1ppm. It takes about 55 drops at night and about 51 in the morning. Is there any variation in test results with these high numbers? Or should I continue shocking?

Look for secret algae hiding places, like inside ladders or steps, or behind the lght. And don't slack off on the brushing. Algae can form a slimy scab to protect itself from the chlorine. Brushing knocks it off and allows you to kill those last diehards that might be too small to see right now.
