When can I add chlorine after AA treatment?

I just did an absorbic acid treatment with a sequestrant about 5 hours ago and my pool looks perfect. Before this I did 3 partial refills to lower my CYA so I have 0 chlorine. When can I start to add it? I wasn't sure if I had to wait.

You should wait 24 hours before starting to raise the FC level very slowly back up to normal.

The directions say to wait.

When the stain is gone, add enough sequestering agent for the volume of your pool - more is better than not enough.

Put the filter back on filter and leave it on 24/7.


The ascorbic acid will bring your ph down, and sometimes the alkalinity. After 24 hours you can start to rebalance the water.
