I have been using 50PPM of borates for a couple of seasons and love the results. I opened the pool last week and ran a complete test using the TF100 kit and Lamotte borate test strips. The borate level is at 15PPM and I need to bring it back up to 50PPM. The "So you want to add borates" sticky says to adjust the TA to 70-80 for SWCG pools but according to my tests, I am currently at a TA of 60. Poolmath recommends the TA for a SWCG pool to be in the range of 60-80. Do I really need to adjust the TA up to 70 or can I leave it where it is and add the borates?
