Pump Run Time

Is it a good rule of thumb to say that (minus any water issues) I only need to run my two speed pump 4-5 hours a day versus running it on high all day then switching to low speed all night?

Sorry for the dumb question, but being a newbie to the pool world (just installed days ago) I wasn't quite sure how often/long I need to run it.

The correct answer is as long as it takes. Most who own 2 speed pumps only use high for backwashing, vacuuming, or watwr features, and use low the rest of the time.

Basically, run it on low as much as it takes to keep the water sparkly.

I usually run my pump 4-6 hrs, most of the time is on low. If I need better skimming I'll throw it up on high and when I dose my bleach or vacuum.
Water is awesome looking. ?

I run 24 hours during summer, power use is between 112 to 127 watts, same as a small light bulb

Yeah ... but you could save an additional 75% off the electrical bill by only running 6 hours
