Heating advice needed for year round above ground pool use

I run with my wife a canine hydrotherapy unit in the South West of England and I need some advice on heating our pool.

We have an above ground indoor pool 6m by 3m, depth of 1m and maintained at around 29 dec C all year round. We have been heating the pool with an oil fired boiler but have been considering adding inline an air source heat pump to save money.

I have some concern about the effectiveness of the heat pump as the air temperature drops.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatfully received.

Mike, Are you and your wife swimming with the dogs? Because if you're not, I don't think they much care how cold the water is... At least that's how I see it with every dog that loved water. They just go in!
