I just bought a new t cell 15 to replace my old one. I installed the new t cell to my pool and turn it on but my Goldline Aqua Rite Chlorine Generator tells me to check cell and salt also the generating light is not on?? is my new cell broken or Goldline Aqua Rite Chlorine Generator

Have the salt tested with a drop test kit.

Also, are the new and old cell labeled as a t-15?

What year is the power box?

Okay. Yes both are t cell 15s. I think its 2006

The check cell light can come on every 3 months to remind you to check it. It can also come on if there's a problem.
The check salt light is likely on because your salt level is low and that's why it's not generating. If it really is 1700 ppm you should add salt to get between 2700 - 3100 ppm.
