Ok, so here's a question I've never seen on here. My friend from work is moving and wants to get rid of his hot tub and I've been thinking of upgrading the pump on my 18'x48" Intex Ultra Frame. I was thinking maybe I could take the hot tub pump, (which I'm guessing would push more water) and hook it up to my pool. Only thing is I don't know the size pump the hot tub has and I don't know if it's 110v or 240v. So, anyone know if this is possible to make work, or just a lost idea. My reason for doing this is mainly cost cause I'm too cheap to buy the 2650 Intex sandfilter/pump. Anyone tried to redneck (I'm from Oklahoma) one together before?

There are too many variables to give you much of an answer, however hot tub pumps are typically not designed for such service, don't have strainer baskets, etc.
