Lowering alkalinity

Hi guys here are my numbers for my swg pool...

fc-4.5
cc-0
ak-130
ph-7.8
ch-40
cya-65


Im raising cya to 70-80 at the moment, ill be adding acid to lower ph but what should i do about TA? What is the best way to lower? I read in pool school for a swg i shold have it around 70-80 i believe.

The simplest way to lower TA is to simply lower the PH to 7.2 any time it gets to 7.8. If the PH goes up too quickly you can lower TA more aggressively, as described in Pool School How To section. But generally that is not required.

Ok i adjusted it to around 7.5 but i quickly rose up to around 7.8 or higher. From reading forums i understand that is bc i have a high TA for a swg i assume. So as if i lower my ph to 7.2 it will lower my TA as well?
