New here. 22000 gallon. IG vinyl. Ph is low 6.6. I have put in 40 gallons of liquid shock in the past 2 days. Still no free chlorine. Total chlorine of 15. Anyone ever have this happen. Stabalizer is 50. Had the pool for 7 yrs with no problems until this year.

If your pH is that low? you need stop adding chlorine and let it come down and bring pH up ASAP! As asked above... how are you testing?

Yes, this is a known issue. It happens occasionally when CYA vanishes over the winter and is turned into ammonia. It takes fairly large amounts of chlorine to burn off the ammonia.
