I spent years battling the pool and getting bounced around at the pool store trying to get rid of algae and keep the pool operational.
Two years ago, I had a terrible chlorine odor from the pool. Found out about combined chloramines and SLAMed the pool. Wife thought I was nuts, but it worked! The grandkids had stinging eyes and itchy skin, which my wife blamed on the chlorine. Nope--it was PH. Fixed.
Last year I dove into the maintenance regimen here, and within a month had the pool cleared and filtered. 12-year old grandson said, "The water sparkles; It's never been this clear." (Out of the mouths of babes, eh?)
I barely lifted a finger to maintain the pool last year, and I am actually looking forward to this year.
I've got startup questions, but they are in that forum.
