New to the forum and have a question. Is it normal for a pool builder to want to elevate your pool just a little to keep from hitting ground water? Thanks in advance

That depends on the area. In relatively flat and wet area where they know the depth of the ground water, then it can sometimes make sense. There are always ways to deal with ground water, but they add expense and time to the build, which isn't always what you want. Of course, most of the time there is no way they could know if it matters or not.
