Landlords replacing the cartridge in the filter, the pool is pretty clear, but the bands are coming off the pleats. I'm thinking she's going to go to the pool store and buy what they sell her. I'm thinking if its a no name cheap cartridge I may try to return it and buy a nicer one online. From looking, looks like pleatco might be the best one to go with. Any thoughts. cartridge size is 10 1/16 x 23 5/8

Hmmm ... I was going to say that Pleatco is the one that I have seen a few negatives reviews about recently and suggest Unicel or Filbur.
would you choose one over the other? they're all about the same price, and still probably cheaper online then the pool store
I have never had cartridges, but based on what I read, I would not get the Pleatco. My newer Unicel DE grids are working well if that matters 
Personal preference is Unicel. Second choice is Filbur. As far as I know these are the top of the line.

Check the end caps as well, there may be some different ones in that size.

Yes. With filters as with anything else, you get what you pay for. If you want top quality......
Local pool store is $91. I don't know if thats a certain brand, but lets hope my landlord is willing to save the $20. I certainly hope so.
