I live in New England and due to the long cold winter and cold spring we are having, I will be opening my pool later this year. That being said, I have opened up the skimmers and started the pump. I would like to start balancing the parameters now so they will be ready. IS 45 degree water to cold to get accurate readings?

The only test that I know of that is affected by water temp is the CYA test. All others are fine with that cold water.

You can do what many of us here have done, and bring your sample inside to let it warm to room temp before taking it out in the sunlight to read it.
