Sparkling pool. But...

I had to get in my 68 degree pool today to do a vinyl repair. I was not able to see clearly under the water. I thought since the pool is sparkling and I'm following this sites advice that I would have crystal clear water with my eyes open too.

Is this normal. Or should I be able to see clearly?

If you did not have on a dive mask your vision is distorted by the water in contact with your eye lens.

Your numbers look like those of a sparkly pool IMO.

I used a dive mask to do the repair and it was extremely clear. But without it. It's cloudy. I just did a search on the net. Now I understand why I can't.
