Why? Many of the chemical levels will have changed before you even got around to testing it.

Do you really want to know? When I swim in a hotel pool, I just pretend it's clean. Ignorance is bliss.

Yeah....if it's a good lap pool, I'll swim for my workout. I've only seen one or two that visibly gross. Didn't swim in those.

I gotta say I'm rather nerdy. But testing hotel pool water....that's just OCD.

When I was in Atlanta for the waste convention the hotel had a sign by the pool explaining theirs is a "saline pool" that doesn't need chlorine. The water was very clear and it had a 10' deep end which is rare for a hotel. The water was really salty, based on the way 3000 ppm tastes (not that I was drinking the water) in my pool, this must have been 6000 / 10000.

It was likely still a chlorine pool and they just know know any better.
