Bleach directly to skimmer

Been using TFPC method for a few weeks now
Bleach addition has been around 60 oz daily in the evenings to go from Fc 4 to 6
Was away for a day and my neighbor was kind enough to add for me but to keep it easy for him I simply asked him to pour into the skimmer
Should this cause any problems?

A day or so probably won't kill anything, but I'd avoid it on a any regular basis. That's a lot of chlorine to hit those pump seals directly without being circulated in the pool I'd think.

For a day you'll be fine. Next time you leave for a day, there's nothing wrong with adding a double dose right before you leave. What's your CYA level?

It probably won't be a problem, especially if it was only done once or twice. If you have anything metal in the system, it could cause corrosion if it were done every day for a long time. If you have a tab feeder, it could get in with the tabs and cause a reaction.

Most likely, you're fine. From now on, I would recommend adding the bleach directly into the pool over the return stream.

I may look into doing tabs when away next time
