Questions about balancing pool return flow and minor leak at tile grout

Hi all,

My pool has 5 returns tied to a loop. The 2 returns closest to the pump have much stronger flow, as expected. In order to balance all 5 returns with similar flow, do I need to decrease the eye ball size of those 2 fittings from 1" to 3/4"?

I notice there is a vertical crack line in the grout between two waterline tiles at a corner of the pool. Water seems to sip up to the coping stone. What is the best way to stop that leak?

Thanks,

Scott

Changing the eyeball size would go a long way to help balancing the flow. You may have to put several different sizes in to get where you feel is the best balance.

Once you do this, you may note a new, slightly higher clean pressure on your filter gauge.
