New pool .

I am replacing a pool that got burnt in a fire last summer.My question is what size pump and sand filter do I need for a 24' X 52" Cornelius pool?
We had a 21 footer before and jumping up a size (big as will fit in the yard)to have a little more room. I'm thinking a two speed pump might be best ,but is it worth it?

3/4HP 1-Speed pump or better yet a 1hp 2-speed. A 22-inch sand filter should suffice.

Yes a 1hp 2 speed pump is worth it. You'll run on low speed most of the time and save a great amount of electricity with a 2 speed.

Would it be better to go with a 24" filter ?
Also is the 1 HP two speed at 1 HP on high or low?

As long as your pump can handle it a bigger filter is always better. Less backwashing and cleaning. With a 1HP 2-speed on high it is a full 1HP. On low it is roughly a 1/4 of the total HP.

Yes it will. Keep in mind I have a 24' inch filter too but at this size it is classified as an in ground filter. Same thing it's just usually people buy these for in ground.
