Went out this morning and the pool is crystal clear. It looks better than it has in the month that I have owned this house. I backwashed last night and added 4 lbs of DE. I drained about a foot of water out and refilled to bring down the CYA and CH levels. The CYA has dropped a little, but not the CH. Here are the newest numbers.

My only problem now is a fine dust settling at the bottom of the pool that the polaris can't pick up. It just shoots through the bag as a cloud. Calcium dust? Dead algae? Dirt? I plan to drop the pH down to 7.2 and aerate to drop the alkilinity as well. We are having a pool party this weekend so I figure the splash out should help with aeration as well.
