Ok to leave robot in the pool?

Strictly from a product longevity concern, is it ok to leave a robotic cleaner in the pool 24/7, removing only when closing for the winter?

I was told by the company to take the aquabot out after each use - the prolonged chlorine exposure can cause the belts to get brittle, therefore needing to be replaced more often.

I take mine out asap after running it; I always understood that if you added chemicals to the pool and you weren't supposed to get in, neither should your robot be in.
Plus, after doing some light maintenance with the tires, o-rings, etc. it looks like alot of parts could get brittle with the chlorine and other chemicals.
