Repairing Sand Filter

My 4.5 year old sand filter split yesterday. It's a crack about 2 inches long just below the filter, on the seam. Can I fix this? And if so, what's the best way (I've heard epoxy mentioned, and if it's fiberglass can I just glass over the crack?)? I don't think it's ever been run over about 32psi, and usually about 26-28psi.

Oh, the filter is a Hayward S244T sand filter. I'm not sure if it's fiberglass or some sort of plastic. The crack is right on a seam it looks like.
