Just wondering. My intex ultra frame pool is about shot and I thought about trying it on the old one. I'm too chicken to try it on a new one. I did put a real skimmer on it last year.
Has anyone added a bottom drain to an Intex pool?

That was in the plans for me to do on mine, and I may still do it in a year or two. It is doable. You will have to make sure you tamp the ground over you pipe very well, or you'll have a slight depression above it in the pool floor.
Another thing would be the safety factor. You will have to put in some sort of suction relief system to ensure no one gets stuck to the floor over the drain.
