removing pool cover

last year i was reading a thread which had lots of handy tips
one of the tips was removing the pool cover on an inground pool and diverting all of the water, leaves and debris into the skimmer box
i can't find that post now, does anybody remember how to do this or a link to the post

I wouldn't dump the dirty water into the skimmer. What type of cover do you have?

haven't bought a cover yet
we get a massive amount of leaves etc in the pool
during summer need to vacumn every other day and would like to avoid that over winter
skimmer basket needs emptying every 2 days as is completely full of leaves
a few trees will accidentally fall over in the winter storms but the council will notice if a lot of trees suddenly fall over

You can get a safety mesh or solid cover or a water bag cover. The mesh will stay dry as will a safety solid with a drain panel. A waterbag or safety solid without a drain panel will need a cover pump.

Lucky you. At times I have to empty mine twice a day! Still, I enjoy the trees and the wildlife that comes with them.
