Anyone own Radiant Metric Pool or have thoughts?

Does anyone know of authorized online dealers for Radiant Pools? I can only find one, Specialty Pool Products, but I saw another thread from a year or so ago that indicated there were at least two online dealers. SPP has a better price than my local dealer, but wanted to make sure I get the best possible price.

Also, if you have a Radiant Metric pool, I'd love to hear how you like it!

Wondering if anyone owns a Radiant Pool? I have done lots of research and think we are going to purchase one, but I don't see many people on the forum who own one. We are going to keep above ground. I'm wondering if there is a reason why I don't see many people who have this type of pool? It looks great, easy to set-up, love the insulation inside the walls that keeps the water warmer. Any thoughts?

I do not have this type of pool so I cannot help you there. I recently purchased a Sharkline and during that event, I strongly considered wall insulation. However (fortunately), the salesman did not understand that I wanted wall insulation and only ordered the Gorilla Pad for the bottom. During the time I was waiting for the parts to arrive, I did A LOT of Googling and discovered that there are mixed opinions on wall insulation. One area of discussion is that it does not provide any noticeable insulation as the majority of heat loss occurs from the surface of the water, which means, a solar cover is the solution. My reading also revealed that people feel that placing insulation behind the walls makes it more susceptible to punctures from toenails and other objects. There was even a professional pool installer who said, place a piece of plastic on the floor and poke it. Now place it on a piece of paper and poke it. His point, a liner rest on a solid surface will potentially prolong its life. Now that the pool is up and the liner is completely snug against the wall, I am glad that I did not get the wall insulation. I hope this gives you some "food for thought" no matter what you decide.

We have one! We had it installed by a local dealer. Actually we were his first Radiant install. We love the pool! As you can see, we had it put completely in-ground so we didn't even attempt to do it ourselves, although I understand it's very easy if you want to do it AG yourself. Are you doing the install yourself?

We ordered the 24' 52" one and the dealer charged us $6k. Is that comparable to the online dealer?

ashpool, full disclosure here, I am a Technical Specialist for Radiant Pools and assist in AG/IG technical and field support for our dealer base. I've installed quite a number of our IG and Metric Series (AG, semi-IG, into a slope, etc.) pools in various applications, and would love to answer any questions that you may have.

Mods, hopefully I am not overstepping any boundaries here. If need be, I can PM ashpool my work email and can assist separate from TFP, however it might be worthwhile if any other members have questions regarding the Radiant Pool. Thanks!

Hi, you can answer questions of a general nature about your product on the forum, but questions related to a specific purchase or installation should be handled privately.

Vettechick99, we are installing above ground for now, 27'. Online price for your 24' is over $6K so you got a good deal - excellent if it included install! We ended up going with the local dealer as he matched the online price for the 27' and threw in a solar cover. I didn't like the components of his package deal, so we purchased the pool only and I will purchase the pump & filter separately. We are in Indiana and the weather isn't great yet, hope to install the pool in about a month!

Awesome! The price was pretty dang good, but we spent another $3k on install. But considering what he had to do, it was totally worth it! Overall I think it's easy to put together so you should have little trouble. Good luck!

I just ordered a 24' from SPP On Monday. After doing some research, it seems SPP and In The Swim are the same company. The original price of the 24' round was 6124. I found a coupon from In The Swim for 20% off, that was accepted by SPP (retailmenot). It was a little hassle calling in and ordering over the phone. But it was over $1200 discount. All in all, my local pool place was going to charge me 8k including tax for the pool as a DIY install. I got the same pool, with no tax, no shipping, cheaper, and with 20% off for an end total of $4900. The pool place did include a cheap pump and filter. But now I can shop for cheaper prices on those items too.
