I bought a replacement motor (2-speed A.O. Smith 56Y) and I seem to recall someone saying I should replace the gasket when I do the job. Which gasket do I need and is it the kind of thing Leslie's carries or is there somewhere I can mail order it? I'd love to do the replacement this weekend, but I'm afraid I'll have to wait.

Answering my own question a bit, I just saw that the place I ordered from recommends a new Pump Shaft Seal. http://www.electricmotorwarehouse.com/purchase_pump_seals.htm
It looks like the type is dependent on my pump, not the motor, so I'm going to have to figure out which one it is. It came with the house and I've never been sure which model it is.
