Column height at pool compared to porch

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. It is the very early stage of pool construction. The covered patio will eventually lead out to a 20x40 pool. I wanted to see if I could get some input on the porch columns and the covered patio/outdoor kitchen area. As can be seen in the photos the covered patio columns are a lot taller. The rear elevation looks better on the prints than the side view. Code requires the crawl space to be a minimum of 3' so the amount of steps on the back porch should be pretty accurate.
The covered patio is coming off the garage and its 14x16. The distance between the porch and covered patio is 25'.

Why don't you have the new columns sit on brick columns to match the height of the stairs? It is really hard to tell from the drawings but to me the new columns look way out of place.

The whole house will be new construction. Good point about making the brick columns same height as steps.
