hi
I believe optimal size is 550w for my pool
pump is broke
I do have however a 750w laying around

if I put him on 2hours on 750w instead of 3hours on 550w

it will be the same and make no difference right?

The bigger pump will just cost more to run. But run time has little to do with the size of pump. The pool can probably get away with the same run time either way but you can experiment to find out.

Flow rates and turnovers really don't matter much for pump run time. Yes, to filter the same water you can run the larger pump less but that is not the main reason to run the pump. Pump run time is more about vacuuming and skimming than it is about filtering water. You might want to read through this: pool-school/pump_run_time
