Hi all,

I am new on here and am considering completing a DIY pool install. We were recently quoted at $20,000 for a 12x24 kidney with salt water set-up $14,000 for pool kit, 6,000 for install) No concrete or lighting included. While the price is not bad, we have a plumber and electrician in the family along with a great friend who does decorative concrete. We will sub-out excavation, all concrete/verm, and possibly even wall/liner placement.

Here are my thousand questions:

Is there a recommended DIY Pool company?

What are the upgrades everyone recommends(salt water)?
Ie pump h/p, # of skimmers, mil on liner, # of lights, faux rock waterfall, etc.

Im in Medina, Ohio and am unsure if steel or poly walls would be best?

Thanks to all for any assistance you provide. Looking to do this next summer. Most likely going to do something smaller (12x24 +\-), oasis type shape with one set of stairs and would like a deeper end. We are also considering adding a hot tub to the equation but, that would be a luxury not a necessity.

Thanks!!!
Tom

Welcome to TFP !!

Don't forget to look into one of our recommended test kits. It's a must have for a trouble free pool. Also take sometime to do some reading in pool school. Lots of good info there.
Enjoy the forum !
