Maintenance during Winter

I don't close my pool during the Winter.

The average Winter high temperature where I live is about 60 degrees. The average low is about 40.
I assume the water temp would not be above 50.

Would it make sense to only test and adjust FC and pH about once a week?

PH is more likely to need adjusting than chlorine as I have a lot of aeration. I have a small waterfall my wife likes to run and a Polaris sweeper that breaks water frequently.

I don't look forward to dipping my arm, past the elbow, in cold water on a cold windy day.

Experience tells me that will cover you. But you know we can always have 95 degrees on XMAS day! Biggest reason I don't close mine. And get yourself a piece of 2 ft. long half inch pvc to avoid that arm dipping stuff.
