i have winterized pool and put cover on and everything is ready for winter except my heater. what are the procedures for this any help appreciated

After all of my plumbing is disconnected, I take out both brass drain plugs. There's one on top and one on the bottom, on the water out side. I also shut off the gas at the supply line. If it's electronic ignition, you probably want to shut off the power at the supply as well, but mine is the millivolt style, so I don't know anything about the control board in the electronic ignition version.
i heard you need to pour rv antifreeze into it after you have removed the drain plugs ?
Once you unhook the plumbing and pull both plugs, there's no need for antifreeze. It will be empty and should stay empty all winter. You'll see what I mean when it's all disassembled.
