What do you clean railing and pool steps with

As I'm closing my pool, I'd like to clean the ladder rails(shiny metal) before storing for winter. I'm wondering what is the best household product to clean, shine-remove water markks etc.

I also want to clean the pool steps. They are a white hard plastic material. I was thinking of using a Mr. Clean magic erasure to clean dirty water line mark.

Any tips would be great.
 
It's stainless steel, so anything that would clean that metal would work fine. I would be hesitant on using anything with abrasives as stainless is kinda soft. You can also disassemble the steps and place the plastic steps in a bleach solution
