Noob with Pump problem

You'll need a timer that can control both high speed and low speed.

Until I upgrade my equipment I just have an extra set of trips for my mechanical timer. It runs from 10:00 AM until noon and then again from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. You might consider that for a possibility. It is not quite as efficient or technical as a 2 speed pump, but it helps. I'll shorten the cycles a little more when Winter gets here.

hoosierrun makes a good point...that motor i linked to does not have a manual switch built-in where you could have your timer just control the power and you could manual switch to high if you ever need that. You could add a switch to it or another option is that motor above with the timer attached: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00000017069221.htm?gclid=CIC45fWr_rkCFZA-MgodqCAAiw...but that is getting more expensive.

Interesting setup. I wonder if there is a special drip/rain cover or hood for that motor? Maybe it doesn't need one.
