Hi All!

Excited to joint this forum - looks like a great community.

We are closing soon on a home with a 12X36 in-ground pool that is about 25 years old. It also had a tiled hottub adjacent. The pool will be closed for winter by the time we take possession.

Questions:
1) We plan to convert the pool and hot tub to salt water. Is it true that even minor leaks in the liner can cause the salt water to erode the metal liner?

2) Need some ideas on what to do with the white aluminium C-track coping - it just does not look that great, but then installing cantilevered brick could mean big bucks!

thanks

Just note that all chlorine pools have salt in them. It's just a matter of how much. So a leak from a non-SWG pool could also cause metal corrosion, but it would be slower than at the salt level in an SWG pool. In other words, you don't want your vinyl to leak, period.
