Skimmer sock sucked into pump, but not there anymore

So I bought some skimmer socks to save my filter from the sand and debris, but I might have not installed it correctly and it appears to have been sucked into my plumbing. Everything is running like there is no blockage.

I have collected bits and pieces from the pump basket, but the largest piece is sometimes in clear view in the pump basket, BUT when I turn off the pump to open it and get the fabric, the fabric is gone and out of sight.

Do I need some type of plumbing snake? LOL Please help. Thank you!

If you have a valve on your pump inlet lines, have somebody shut it off as you shut the pump off.
