Hi, I had great advice from you in the past on getting rid of algae (esp regarding CYA vs FC levels). Looking for more advice on a different subject. I'm closing the pool soon. Should I leave the solar blanket under the Loop-Loc safety cover or roll it up and take it out? What will make it last longer? We typically will go well below freezing many days in the winter in mid NY state. We also have mice though and in the past they liked nesting (and partially eating) the blanket. Finally -- any suggestions on how to keep algae out of the pool with the Loop-Loc? It lets light through and every spring I open to serious green soup. 30K gal vinyl in-ground, Pentair 1 HP, no SWG.

I would take the solar cover off and store it.
You can try some polyquat 60 algaecide. Make sure you close when your water temp is below 60 degrees and bring your FC up to shock level.
