What a dye test looks like.

I made a video showing what to look for when using dye to locate a leak. When there is a leak the dye does not hang around or cling to a surface or edge, it gets sucked right into the void.

Excellent! What type dye did you use? I used food coloring and it spread and diluted into the surrounding water too quickly. It wasn't nearly as useful as what you are demonstrating.

No problem. The dye I used is a black gel food dye that I found at a local restaurant supply store (http://www.mainesource.net/) mixed with water. Basically as I squirt it underwater it refills with water and becomes diluted over time. So when it becomes too diluted I add a few more drops of the gel.
