All pool actuators are digital. They're either on or off.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you want them to have digital communication?
Since all pool actuators are on/off I'm not sure what benefit you'd get.

Yea me either. In my work world an ON/OFF control only is a discrete signal. I've wondered about these pool system actuators and what sort of signal they get.

There are 3 wires, a common a and then power is supplied through one or the other of the remaining two which determines the direction it turns. There are switches in the actuator that open to stop the rotation.

I assume the original question is why is there not a feedback where the control sends the desired position and the valve moves to that position. I think it would make them cost more and not add much if any value because rarely are more than 2 fixed positions required.

I meant for the cam settings. Just tell it you want it to stop at x degrees. And the ability to have it stop in more than 2 positions.

Ok, I think they don't have it because there is so little need to trim flow in a pool setup.
