Would a sand filter/ SWG combo like this:

be way overkill for a 1000 gallon plastic stock tank kiddy pool?

I'm looking for minimal maintenance here and am willing to over do it if it makes things easier.

imo, yes. I would just follow something similar to this: http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/temporary_pool_guide

By the way, I strongly recommend against getting the combo swg/pump/filter units. The swg and pump never fail at the same time.

Hi, if this is for the pool listed in your signature it should be fine.

Sorry about my mistake above (which I have now corrected)...if it wasn't clear, I strongly recommend against getting the swg/pump/filter all in one, since the swg and the pump will never fail at the same time.

Thanks for the replies... It would be for a 1000 gallon polyethylene stock tank... slightly smaller then the intex pool I have now...
good to know about combined units.
