Getting fence to code

Hi,

We need to get our fence up to code because the horizontal members and posts face out, ie on neighbors side of the fence. We are eventually getting a New fence and will turn the posts to be on our side but that is a 4 weeks away and pool build should be finished in a few days.

I can either just turn every panel around or put some sort of anti-climb bevel boards on the post side. Does anyone have pics of this bevel board they can share?

How long is the fence? How high? How far between the hortizontals?

If you block access to the hortizontals with some wire mesh, it will meet code. Basically, if a kid can't get a toe hold, it meets code if high enough.

Take a 2 x 4 and slice it lengthwise diagonally to create two beveled pieces. Mount above the horizontal stringers on the outside of the fence.

I think gwegan is suggesting ripping a 2x4 at a 45 degree angle and mounting so that it can't be climbed:

Is there code enforcement in your part of Texas (none in mine)?

Is a real concern? Neighbors have fence climbing kids?

If it was me I'd just wait.

Decided to just tear down all the panels and reverse them so that the horizontal members and posts are on my side. A bit labor intensive but it meets code and i dont have to go buy any 2x4s. Plus beating things with a mallet is kinda sweet. Nice way to end the week.
