Draw back of using TSP to lower CH?

What happens when you use trisodium phosphate to lower CH? Do you end up with a lot of phosphate (algae food) in the pool? I've read of using TSP for this purpose, but no where on this forum so I'm curious as to what is the downside?

    thanks again,
    Dave
