I just wanted to thank the people of Trouble Free Pool.
I am a first time 15,000 gal in ground pool owner and after the first three weeks of using the previous owners left over supplies and some store supplies, I took a leap of faith and jumped into the BBB method. Can I get an AMEN!
It took me most of the summer to learn the finer points of BBB, but my pool was nice the entire summer with no previous pool experience.
The TF-100 kit was a big part of my success.
Not including the first month's opening, I only needed to shock the pool once, half way through summer, when the spent chorine spiked.
Getting the borate level up was a little work but worth it.
I would use 1/2 to 1 full bottle of clorox 8.25% a day depending on sun and use (Eastern PA).
I wish there was a better CYA test, to me I can always see something down there, even if it is just greyed out.
