high cya

my cya is high and I need to replace a lot of water to bring it down. I replenish lost water at about halt a ton a day, will doing this also lower my cya though I assume a lot slower process.

Anytime you replace high CYA water with fresh water, you are lowering the CYA.

Well, if the water you replace is lost to evaporation, that won't lower the CYA. Only if the water is drained or lost to splash out will it lower CYA.

I never thought of that.
That means if the water level is low the cya will increase. And the when the pool is filled the cya decreases.
But the cya does not evaporate.
