Normal FC loss during day

I have been testing my cya every two weeks just to see when i reach 50,so that i can stop using trichlor.

Last year my pool went green and i think that was my problem because when i first fill the pool up i put in 30ppm of CYA and also continued using trichlor because i didn't know what else to use.

But since joining this site i have checking the CYA very carefully.

Another problem for me was finding some bleach at an afordable price.

Don't let your FC get that low, you want to be at a minimum of 4 ppm FC (for your 45 ppm cya).

I tested the FC right before i added a 3"tablet so i think since adding the tablet it should hopefully rise a little

You are playing with fire by letting it get that low. Be careful with those pucks, if they are 3" (8 oz) each one you use adds 6.3 ppm cya to your pool. Also keep an eye on your ph, the pucks will likely cause it to drop.

When my CYA reaches 50 i will switch to bleach.

My Ph seems constant sometimes it raises to 7.6 but it has never dropped below 7.2.

So that is 1 puck which by the way will only take care of your FC for 4 days or so.

Uhm the 3" tablet i use usually last me a whole week,but maybe that's why my FC is low.

I'll try raising the FC tomorrow with a little Cal hypo
