I'm new and failed Chemistry. Certainly learning a lot from this site! (Thank you)

My question.... when moving forward with BBB... Should there be any concerns with bleach damaging pump motor?

Thanks again

Welcome! We all generally pour it in front of an upturnded return, so it has generally made full pool travel and very will mixed before it ever gets back there anyhow. No issues.

 Welcome to TFP!!!

Short answer ... NO ... well assuming you are not pouring the bleach into the motor itself ;)

Keep reading Pool School (if you have not already) a few times and the chemistry will start to make sense. Ask questions as they come up.

Like many pool store scare tactics they are half truths, yes bleach can damage a pump if it is poured into a skimmer return too fast due to forming too high of concentration in the pipes, however since we suggest slowly pouring it in front of a return jet there is no issue of concern, the same technique applies to acid.
