Backyard TV Idea

Hi all,

Just had a 16 X 32 in ground vinyl pool installed this summer. Its been great. But I am really wanting to incorporate a TV in my backyard set up. I plan on going with the TV Shield and a traditional flat screen.

I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find a pole mount that you install in the ground, then the TV mounts to the pole. I see many photos of them on the web, but cant find anyone who sells them.

I'm looking for something like the one in this gallery http://www.skyvue.com/gallery . It's the 1st one on the second row installed next to a pool.

Thanks!

<kicking self in butt>..lol..

Looks like you were right. I saw those. But because Sunbrite, who also sells outdoor TVs, markets their mounts as being customized for only their products, I assumed Skyvue did the same thing. Just got off the phone with Skyvue and they verified their mounts fit most Tvs.

Problem solved...

thanks!

I took a different, less expensive route. I replaced what was our living room TV with an updated model and placed the old one outside. It is mounted on the wall under the patio where it is sheltered from rain and sun. The way I look at it, even if this set only last 4-5 years outside (was already 5 years old when I moved it outside), I will replace it with a new one. Given the current cost of a fully weatherproof TV, I can go through several sets before I would equal the cost of a single weatherproof TV.

Of course, if you must mount the TV where it will be exposed to the elements, then you will have to go with a weatherproof TV.

Unfortunately, thats not an option for me. I have a small covered patio, but its not located where the TV could be viewed from the pool. In my case, the television will be fully exposed to the elements.

The only other option I might have would be to place the television on a cart inside my shed. I have a shed that has a nice, but small, cover porch. I was thinking I could run electric to the shed and use it to house my electronics, and just roll the television out onto the porch when ready to use. The only negative is that the shed is located on the deep end of the pool, which is the opposite of my covered and uncovered patios.

Maybe Ill post a pic of my layout to maybe see if I can get some ideas from people here.

thanks

Here are some photos of my current layout. Pool was just installed 4/2013. Before I start on the electronics phase, I have a floating deck, hot tub, and gazebo to tackle. Don't expect to start on the electronics until next March, but it is my goal to purchase all the components over the winter and start the project in March.

Right now Im trying to work out a plan that works with this layout.
